Conference Overview
From natural disasters to mass casualty events to the global pandemic, the events of the past decade have brought numerous international crises to the forefront that led to pressing needs for innovative care of injured and critically ill patients worldwide. Trauma teams traveled to the epicenters of humanitarian crises and natural disasters to partner with local hospitals and clinics to provide time sensitive care, and in some instances, created new field hospitals when no other resources were available.

Globally, the COVID pandemic forced all in health care to work in crisis mode. Trauma teams were once again called upon to apply their organizational skills to provide care for both critically ill COVID patients and others with serious injuries or illness as the health care industry faced never before seen challenges. Throughout it all, trauma teams responded with innovative solutions to meet these patient care needs, often in austere environments.

The 2022 San Diego Day of Trauma will focus on lessons learned by our colleagues who rose to the challenge and successfully responded to these various crises. Nationally renowned speakers will present state of the art interventions for emergencies encountered in the field. Conference speakers will include specialists in the fields of pre-hospital care, trauma  surgery, and critical care. Lectures, real-life case presentations, and interactive sessions will equip attendees with the latest evidence base and practical information to improve patient outcomes.

Conference Highlights
• Concise and focused lectures by experts in crisis environment trauma and critical care medicine
• Case presentation segment focusing on real-life trauma cases in crisis settings
• Extensive audience participation, panel discussions, and Q&A with expert faculty
• Mobile conference app with access to electronic course materials and recordings
