This educational activity is a Streaming format. The program is designed for clinical radiologists in either general or specialized practice, and is appropriate for radiologists in training. Familiarity with the fundamentals of CT, MR, PET, and US technology and applications, as well as basic anatomy, is assumed.
It is estimated that it should take the average learner 42.75 hours to complete the activity.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After participating in this activity, clinicians should be able to:
- Evaluate and incorporate current imaging techniques and protocols for sub-specialty imaging into clinical practice to enable accurate diagnosis, dictate best therapy options, and assess response to therapy which may prompt therapy modification as needed.
- Describe the latest lung cancer CT screening process, including appropriate CT dose settings and structured reporting and management.
- Develop strategies to optimize and incorporate a gamut of studies, including CT, MR and PET, in order to accurately stage neoplasms with minimal cost and radiation exposure.
- Describe how digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) can be used to help increase breast cancer detection while decreasing ‘false positive’ recalls.
- Develop a strategy for patients to optimize radiation safety and dose reduction through optimizing CT protocols and techniques as well as utilizing MR imaging in appropriate patient populations.
