Explore Key Topics

This program is a comprehensive look at new developments and updates in the field of musculoskeletal imaging. NYU’s Advanced Imaging of the Musculoskeletal System: Up Your Game includes case-based lectures covering a wide array of topics, including common sports specific injuries, nerve imaging, bone tumors, imaging of arthritis and cartilage, pediatric imaging, spine imaging, musculoskeletal infection, and more. It will help you to better:

Determine strategies to modify imaging techniques and protocols for all areas of musculoskeletal MRI including hip, knee, shoulder, and foot
Develop a working differential for tumors of bone and soft tissues, and recognize if additional imaging or tissue sampling is justified
Evaluate the role of imaging in the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory arthritides like rheumatoid and spondyloarthropathies
Describe techniques to improve MR imaging in the presence of hardware, as well as the major areas of pathology diagnosed in patients post hip arthroplasty

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, you will be better able to:

Determine how best to modify imaging techniques and protocols for all areas of Musculoskeletal MRI including: hip, knee, shoulder and foot, for improved therapeutic decision making
Develop a working differential for tumors of both the bone and soft tissues and recognize when additional imaging or tissue sampling is warranted
Evaluate the value of imaging in guiding diagnosis and treatment of such inflammatory arthritides as the rheumatoid and the spondyloarthropathies, as well as common musculoskeletal infections, including, but not limited to the septic hip and discitis
Describe techniques which can be utilized to improve MR imaging in the presence of hardware, as well as the major areas of pathology which can be diagnosed in patients status post hip arthroplasty
Intended Audience

The target audience for this program will be radiologists, both in academic and private practice, seeking to increase their skills in musculoskeletal radiology, as well as orthopedists and physical medicine and rehabilitation practitioners interested in learning how imaging can best be incorporated into their practice.
