With the benefit of lessons learned over the past few years at the NYU Langone’s Preston Robert Tisch Center for Men’s Health, it is clear that the treatment of men involves distinct clinical and social challenges. This comprehensive symposium will describe and analyze some of the diagnostic and treatment challenges that are common in an ambulatory setting when managing male patients. Special emphasis will be given to the use of diet and other lifestyle interventions, personalized to the individual patient.

Course Description

With the benefit of lessons learned over the past few years at the NYU Langone’s Preston Robert Tisch Center for Men’s Health, it is clear that the treatment of men involves distinct clinical and social challenges. This comprehensive symposium will describe and analyze some of the diagnostic and treatment challenges that are common in an ambulatory setting when managing male patients. Special emphasis will be given to the use of diet and other lifestyle interventions, personalized to the individual patient.

Educational Objectives

After participating in this activity, clinicians should be able to:

  1. Recognize the effect of mental health and prostate health issues on sexual health and to begin treatment or provide appropriate specialty referrals for these often overlapping medical issues
  2. Recognize signs and symptoms of congestive heart failure and ischemic heart disease/related issues, allowing initiation of more expedited expert referral and treatment
  3. Identify updated guidelines for the optimal timing, intervals, and methods for recommended colorectal cancer and polyp screening and surveillance, both for average-risk and higher-risk populations
