+ Information:

The 2nd Annual Sports Medicine Symposium: The Golf and Soccer Athlete is a one-day symposium on current best practices and innovations in diagnostic and therapeutic interventions used for recreational to elite athletes throughout the life span. This course will include a review of the current literature and will highlight an interdisciplinary approach to the latest cutting-edge management strategies with a focus on specialized populations including the golfer and the soccer athlete. A combination of didactic presentations, case studies, and panel discussions will be offered from leading experts in the field. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about evidence-based sports-specific examinations, diagnostic musculoskeletal imaging, enhance their knowledge of injection therapy techniques, and acquire the latest return-to-play and performance enhancement strategies including blood flow restriction therapy and video analysis techniques.

Educational Objectives

  5. Recognize emergency musculoskeletal injuries and triage and/or manage the plan of care from the sideline
  6. Describe the biomechanics of the golf swing
  7. Describe psychological techniques to improve sports performance
  8. Develop appropriate injury management strategy integrating both clinical examination findings with video analysis
