First we want to thank our great visionary leaders HH Shaikh Mohamed Bin Zayed AL Nahyan President of UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, HH Shaikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and ruler of Dubai and all of our rulers for the unlimited support in aligning our countries resources and capabilities for serving humanity at large and for making UAE a key leader that strives to make a difference in many fields. It is indeed our great honour and privilege to welcome you to attend the International Conference for Initiatives on Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation, which will be an interactive conference and exhibition for three days November 7–9, 2022, in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, UAE. The Hybrid Conference is endorsed by the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi, Dubai Health Authority and Ministry of Health and Prevention UAE.

Organ donation and transplantation is one of the medical miracles of the twentieth century that prolonged the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients around the world. It is however not only a lifesaving therapy but also a shining symbol of human solidarity, tolerance and coexistence due to the countless acts of generosity by organ donors and their families. This great human gift of life needs to be protected from many unethical practices by building sustainable national organ donation and transplantation programs and by establishing international collaborations and sharing expertise and resources. Given the Global organ and tissue shortage, the Conference aims to bring together organ and tissue donation and transplantation programs and other stakeholders from across the world to come up with collaborative initiatives that will have a positive impact on enhancing organ and tissue donation and transplantation rates while also supporting the implementation of innovative solutions to prevent organ failure. Best practices and activities of various nations in promoting organ and tissue donation and transplantation will be highlighted hand in hand with highlights about best international practices for adoption of healthy lifestyle that supports prevention of organ failure especially from modifiable chronic disease risk factors. Many themes will be covered to help explore synergies between multiple transplant programs such as paired kidney donation exchange and organ and tissue sharing between countries. We aim to have state-of-the-art lectures, plenaries, parallel specialty meetings to stimulate deep discussions on all important aspects including role of governments, health system finance & charities, health regulators, healthcare systems, academia and community about the latest developments in the fields across our region and internationally to come up with as many as possible well defined ‘initiatives’ that can be implemented save and improve people’s lives locally and globally.

HAYAT ART Exhibition
Organ and tissue donation is an Art that requires awareness and generosity by heroic individuals. The exhibition will showcase the history of organ and tissue donation and transplantation in addition to recent Global statistics, Local, International, partners & many awareness activities & resources. There will be many Art works and paintings some of which got international awards and some would be sold to support the cause of awareness about organ donation and to honour those that have saved lives and also the many lives that can be saved by this call for action campaign. There is also the “initiative” corner where you can explore how individuals, groups & organizations public or private can partner together for savings lives and making a difference. This conference is an initiative itself that leads to many more ideas and initiatives with your participation and engagement, Zayed charity Marathon and Red Crescent have a great initiative to support organ donation and transplantation next week appreciating your support and the call for action continues as there are always patients with organ failure counting on us to work together and help them survive.
