+ Information:
This course is designed to provide a comprehensive update on the diagnosis and treatment of migraine and other headache disorders. Hosted by the Diamond Headache Clinic Research & Educational Foundation, the program emphasizes the shift toward viewing migraine as a complex brain disease. It moves beyond basic management to explore the “paradigm shift” in therapeutics, specifically focusing on the integration of new CGRP-targeted therapies, interventional procedures, and the management of difficult-to-treat patient populations.
+ What You Will Learn
Attendees will be able to:
-
Diagnose migraine and other headache disorders using the most current definitions and disease burden metrics.
-
Evaluate the evolution of migraine pathophysiology and its classification as a brain disease.
-
Implement updated acute care and preventive strategies, including the use of CGRP monoclonal antibodies and gepants.
-
Differentiate between migraine and other complex presentations, such as high/low-pressure headaches (CSF dynamics) and “dizzy” headaches.
-
Apply case-based learning to manage special populations, including pregnancy/breastfeeding, elderly patients, and those with medication overuse headache (MOH).
-
Utilize interventional techniques, such as OnabotulinumtoxinA (Botox), effectively in clinical practice.
