+ Information:

The Cleveland Clinic has organized a comprehensive course on the Management of Checkpoint Inhibitor-Related Toxicity. The course covers a wide range of topics related to immune checkpoint inhibitor therapies, which have been approved for various cancers since 2011, and the management of immune-related adverse events (irAEs). The course also includes discussions on CAR T-cell therapies approved since 2017 for blood cancers.

Here are some highlights from the course agenda:

  • Future of irAE Management: Insights into the current state and future directions of irAE management.
  • Inpatient and Outpatient irAE Management at Mass General: Strategies employed by Massachusetts General Hospital in managing irAEs.
  • Challenges in Community Oncology Settings: Addressing the difficulties faced in managing irAEs outside of specialized centers.
  • Management of Common irAEs: Focused sessions on rheumatologic, dermatologic, endocrine, and pulmonary irAEs.
  • Keynote Address: A special session featuring an expert in the field.
  • Recognition of Underappreciated irAEs: Identifying and managing less commonly recognized irAEs.

The course is designed for medical subspecialists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and residents/fellows, aiming to improve the understanding of the mechanism, diagnosis, and management of irAEs. It emphasizes the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in treating these adverse events
