Overview

IMPORTANT FORMAT UPDATE: The health and safety of our community are always our top priorities at Cedars-Sinai. Due to the current increase in Covid-19 transmission rates in Los Angeles county and across the country, the symposium is being converted to a completely virtual event. If you previously registered for the in-person symposium, you will be receiving an email with more details on converting your registration to the virtual event. This Conference will provide attendees new techniques and treatment options for neurovascular issues such as the use of stem cells for stroke, robotics for neuroendovascular procedures, and endovascular therapy for subdural hematomas and hydrocephalus. A special session dedicated to venous stenosis and fistulas, which will include discussion of the etiologies of venous sinus stenosis, defining intracranial and spinal dural arteriovenous fistulae and describing the symptoms and treatment of spinal CSF-venous fistula. The final session will offer case-based presentations exploring arterial occlusion and bleeds including telemedicine in acute stroke, healthcare disparities as well as intracerebral hemorrhage and superficial siderosis. An expert faculty has been assembled to discuss these important topics and the strategies to support healthcare professionals in delivering optimal care to their patients with neurovascular disease. This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of: Neurologists, neurosurgeons, internists, family practitioners, vascular surgeons as well as nurses and other healthcare professionals, including radiology technicians.

Objectives
  1. Discuss the rationale behind surgical decision making and the various treatment modalities for managing complex neurovascular symptoms
  2. Discuss new techniques and treatment concepts for treatments for stroke and other complex neurovascular conditions
  3. List some of the emerging technological treatments for complex neurovascular conditions
  4. Examine unique case studies and the recommended strategies presented to address the clinical management of each
