The Annual Ted Engle Pediatric Liver Transplant Lectureship Series aims to gather thought leaders from around the globe to present new and emerging concepts related to the care of patients who may need or undergo a pediatric liver transplantation. Aimed at investigators from all stages of their career who study and practice pediatric hepatology, this year’s symposium will focus on the evaluation and management of pediatric portal hypertension. Our keynote speaker is Kyle Soltys, M.D., of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, who will discuss the surgeon’s approach to mitigating complications of portal hypertension in children. Additional presentations by Sameer Gadani, M.D. and Kaddakal Radhakrishnan, both from Cleveland Clinic Children’s, on the interventional radiologic and medical evaluation of pediatric portal hypertension, respectively, will round out the lectureship.
Learning Objectives
- Describe the diagnosis and management of children with cirrhotic or non-cirrhotic portal hypertension.
- Describe interventional radiographic techniques and outcomes for assessing and treating advanced portal hypertension in children
- Describe the rationale, techniques and outcomes for surgically managing pediatric portal hypertension.
The Cleveland Clinic 13th Annual James Ted Engle Pediatric Liver Transplant Lectureship Series 2026 is best for pediatric hepatologists, transplant surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams who specialize in the care of children with advanced liver disease and transplantation. It emphasizes clinical excellence, innovation, and collaborative approaches in pediatric liver transplant medicine.
