Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) 2026 is one of the premier global forums in gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy, and GI surgery. The 2026 program introduces a significant shift toward a unified, content track-first approach, fostered collaboratively by its four participating societies: AASLD, AGA, ASGE, and SSAT. The event brings together over 13,000 attendees and focuses heavily on integrating AI-enabled diagnostics, personalizing care, and moving beyond isolated drug trials toward integrated models of clinical practice. Key scientific areas of focus include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), digestive oncology, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), and advanced endoscopic systems.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
-
Evaluate the current and potential applications of artificial intelligence in endoscopic practice, histology, and IBD severity assessment.
-
Apply updated, evidence-based strategies to the endoscopic management of acute GI bleeding, pancreatobiliary diseases, and complex colorectal polyps.
-
Incorporate noninvasive tools (NITs) to optimize the diagnosis, staging, and monitoring of MASH/MASLD, and select appropriate treatments such as resmetirom or GLP-1 RAs.
-
Assess and select early-intervention therapies, combination treatments, and treat-to-target strategies to manage Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) effectively.
-
Evaluate emerging endoscopic and surgical treatments for obesity-related GI diseases, including endobariatrics and Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG).
Target Audience
This educational activity is intended for gastroenterologists, hepatologists, surgeons, basic scientists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses who are involved in the management of digestive and liver diseases.
Best for gastroenterologists, hepatologists, general surgeons, oncologists, bariatric specialists, allergists, and internal medicine physicians.
