The Foundation for Advanced Cardiovascular Education and Training 9th Annual ERAS Symposium 2026 focuses on the multidisciplinary implementation, optimization, and future directions of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols. The program covers specialized ERAS applications across diverse surgical fields—including cardiac, orthopedic, gynecologic, and emergency surgery—while addressing financial considerations, quality verification, and the integration of emerging technologies like AI.
Course Date: February 6–7, 2026
Successful implementation of an Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program requires a multidisciplinary team effort and active participation of the patient in the recovery program. The ERAS program is an opportunity to collaborate with leading experts in the field with a goal to hasten functional recovery and improve postoperative outcomes.
Presentations may focus on any topic related to Enhanced Recovery at your facility. These include, but are not limited to:
- Avoidance of post op complications
- Communication and teamwork
- Reduction in opioid usage
- Preoperative optimization
- Financial impact of ERAS
- Patient reported outcomes
- Patient or staff education
- Data collection and auditing
- AI and Technology Advancements
2. Learning Objectives
-
Implement and customize ERAS protocols across various surgical specialties, including ambulatory, cardiac, vascular, and orthopedic trauma surgery.
-
Evaluate the role of interactive design and the Delphi Method in developing and optimizing effective ERAS programs within hospital systems.
-
Analyze the financial impact of ERAS implementation, including budget management, return on investment (ROI), and the role of compliance audits.
-
Assess the clinical benefits of prehabilitation, specific medication management (e.g., SGLT-2i), and postoperative complication mitigation strategies like treating GI tract dysfunction.
-
Integrate emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, for real-time decision support to enhance surgical outcomes and align with ACS Quality Verification Programs.
3. Target Audience
Best for anesthesiologists, surgeons, and ERAS coordinators who want updates on multidisciplinary perioperative pathways and prehabilitation.
