1. Overview

The Cedars Sinai Transcranial Doppler Building Interpretation Skills course provides focused, practical training on the application and interpretation of Transcranial Doppler (TCD) ultrasound. The program is designed to enhance clinicians’ proficiency in evaluating waveform data, monitoring cerebrovascular hemodynamics, and diagnosing related neurological conditions.

Course Date: Thursday, March 19, 2026, 7:55 AM – Friday, March 20, 2026, 12:15 PM PT, Online

This online course will build the basic skills required for interpretation for a variety of transcranial Doppler diagnostic and advanced studies. Using established guidelines and criteria, each subject will be explored as case studies are reviewed, analyzed, and discussed in an open and supportive atmosphere by our expert faculty. The case studies provided during this course may be used to help satisfy the 100 supervised studies required to take the ASN Neurosonology examination.

2. Learning Objectives

  1. Understand the anatomy, vessels, landmarks, and collateral pathways of the Circle of Willis
  2. Interpret 100 supervised case studies in a variety of TCD applications
  3. Develop an awareness of waveform morphology in normal and diseased states
  4. Improved reporting skills including appropriate terminology
  5. Better understand the many applications of transcranial Doppler for inpatient and outpatient use
  6. Identify opportunities for interprofessional collaboration with members of the team that interpret transcranial Doppler studies

3. Target Audience

Best for neurologists and sonographers who want to improve transcranial Doppler interpretation skills and cerebrovascular hemodynamic assessment.
