Meeting Information

On behalf of the Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Outcome Collaborative (CNOC), members of CNOC’s Steering and Program Committees, and our Diamond Hosts, CHU Sainte-Justine Mother and Child University Hospital in Montréal, Québec, we are excited to welcome you to CNOC’s 11th Annual Scientific Sessions.

Throughout this year’s meeting, we will hear from leaders in the field of cardiac neurodevelopment as we explore cutting-edge science, clinical approaches, quality improvement, and advocacy opportunities from around the globe. We have brought together a diverse program of multidisciplinary faculty experts who work with, or care for, infants, children, adolescents, or adults with congenital heart disease and their families, with a focus on improving neurodevelopmental, psychological, and social outcomes.

Conference highlights include:

  • Sessions dedicated to excellence in interdisciplinary neurodevelopmental care, showcasing the latest science, clinical interventions and innovations, and health policy.
  • For the first time in CNOC’s history, a session bringing together leaders from seven Cardiac Networks United (CNU) collaborating networks to envision ways of working together to improve neurodevelopmental outcomes.
  • Our Year-in-Review, presenting a selection of the top publications relevant to our field this year.
  • Presentations devoted to developing a deeper understanding of the effects of stress and trauma on the body, mind, and our communities.
  • Innovations in neuromonitoring and neuroimaging across the lifespan in CHD.
  • A joint session with The En Coeur Fondation, partnering with patient and parent champions to promote health outcomes.
  • Science posters and abstracts submitted to the conference, including oral presentation of the eight ‘Best of the Best’ submitted abstracts.
  • CNOC updates, including a special focus on the work of our Diversity and Inclusion Special Interest Group (SIG) and a workshop introducing the new Health Equities Module within the CNOC Registry.
  • And we will proudly present this year’s Newburger-Bellinger Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Award Winner.  This is one of the highest honors in the field, presented only to an individual in our cardiac neurodevelopment community who has made significant contributions to clinical care, research, knowledge, teaching or community advocacy leading to improvements in the neurodevelopmental outcomes of children with heart disease.

We are also thrilled to partner with Nemours Children’s Health for a very special three-hour preconference workshop on parent and caregiver mental health on Monday, October 24.

We thank you for supporting CNOC’s 11th Annual Scientific Sessions and cannot wait to see you, either in person in beautiful Montréal, or virtually from around the world. Welcome!
